Karen Tricot Steward is the CEO of the Little Rock-based podcast production company Power of Pod. 

 

She is also the co-founder of the Arkansas Podcast Collaborative, a non-profit dedicated to supporting Arkansas podcasters of all experience levels. The Association hosts ARKAST, an annual podcast convention in Little Rock. Steward is co-host of the ARKAST Podcast, which features interviews with Arkansas podcasters and industry experts. She is also the executive producer and co-host of Burden, an investigative true crime podcast about the suspicious death of a young mother in Texarkana, Arkansas. 

 

Steward has worked as a reporter, anchor, and Content Development Director for the NPR affiliate in Little Rock, KUAR 89.1. She received awards for her coverage of the opioid epidemic and the 2017 executions in Arkansas. She has worked as Public Education Coordinator for the Supreme Court of Arkansas, creating educational podcasts and videos about the judicial branch of government and conducting tours of the Justice Building. 

 

She is a member of the Association of Independents in Radio (AIR), a global community of audio industry professionals that provides training for podcasters, story editors, and audio producers.
